Other agencies might call it an internship program, but we offer and expect more. At Online Optimism, our Specialist program was crafted to be the leading program for college students and recent grads to build a future career in marketing or design. We see it as the last internship you’ll ever do.
Overview of our Specialist Program:
25 – 40 hours per week between 9-5, M-F.
$17 / Hour. Happy to work with you to get college credit if still in school.
Work on real projects with our full-time staff, for both our clients and Online Optimism itself.

You want:
a career in graphic design, web design, or web development.
to hone your design and/or development skills with work for a variety of clients.
the opportunity to create visual content on behalf of our agency and our clients.
to build out your portfolio across industries and mediums.
You have:
significant experience (and the portfolio to back it up) with a variety of styles and approaches.
if you’re a designer, experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, and/or After Effects.
if you’re a developer, experience in working with WordPress or other CMSs.
You're excited by any of the following:
crafting graphics, ads, and animations for a variety of businesses online.
following very specific brand guidelines.
using UI/UX design to create beautiful, functional websites.
following best practices for web accessibility.
What Are Some Features of Our Specialist Program?
Real Work, Real Experience
This opportunity isn’t about getting your boss coffee–we have a cold brew on tap for that. You’ll spend your time here working on real assignments and projects. In addition, when your department director attends networking events and educational lunches, we’ll be sending you as well, ticket included.
A majority of our full-time team started at Online Optimism as Specialists, and many of our Specialists go on to work at some of the top digital marketing agencies around.
Bettering Our Community
As part of our efforts to educate, inform, and improve our work, our Optimists often attend networking and educational events. We believe this need extends to our Specialists as well. While you are a Specialist at Online Optimism, we’ll be sending you to at least 2 virtual networking events that emphasize the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion in marketing. You’ll also have the opportunity to join our organization’s bookclub, and participate in other efforts that our agency is working toward.
